Historical records
The calendar collection contains 139,305 records of events, births and deaths, with 2,928 selected records in the initial archive. Calendar records come from English Wikipedia’s day pages; the 530 historical stories provide at least 500 English words each and retain their original source links alongside the English articles used for expansion. Calendar text consists of brief factual excerpts or paraphrases. Expanded story context includes selected and edited passages from Wikipedia, with contributing authors credited through the linked articles and their revision histories. Wikipedia-derived text is provided under CC BY-SA 4.0; follow each record’s links for the source and its references.
Search uses Gregorian-style month and day inputs and a year filter. Older dates follow the source calendar pages; not every historical local calendar has been independently converted. This is a static collection with a limited scope.
Local image archive
Story images are 960 × 600 pixel WebP files, cropped and compressed to a consistent size. The five homepage paintings are 1800 × 900 pixels. Some images illustrate a related period or subject rather than the event itself.
