Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
1. Scope
This policy explains how Chronicle handles information during date searches, story browsing, visitor measurement and feedback preparation. Hosting infrastructure processes operational logs under its own policies.
2. Browsing and visitor analytics
Date searches, category filters and story browsing run in your browser. Chronicle uses Google Analytics 4 to understand visitor traffic and how the archive is used. Analytics can process page addresses and titles, referring pages, browser and device information, approximate location and interactions configured in the Google Analytics property. Page addresses can include the searched date or selected category.
The Google tag may set first-party cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions and send usage information to Google. Our site configuration disables Google Signals and advertising personalization. The site has no membership registration or payment system. Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy.
3. Feedback
The contact form creates a feedback file inside your browser. Its contents are not automatically uploaded or sent to the site operator, and our analytics code does not send the feedback fields. You decide whether to keep, share or delete the downloaded file. Avoid including passwords, identity documents or other sensitive information.
4. Images and external links
Historical images are served from this site, so viewing them does not require your browser to contact the original image host. Google Analytics uses Google services for measurement. Following a source link takes you to a third-party website with its own privacy policy.
5. Storage and security
Chronicle does not save search or feedback history in browser storage. Google Analytics may store measurement cookies in your browser. Hosting infrastructure may log network requests for security and troubleshooting under the hosting platform’s privacy policy.
6. Your choices and contact
You can control or delete cookies using your browser settings and use browser privacy tools to limit analytics requests. Deleting cookies does not delete information already processed by Google. Use the contact page to prepare comments about content or privacy. A public operator contact address will be added there when available.
